Gravity sensor accelerometer - An accelerometer is a sensor for testing the acceleration along a given axis. When a physical body accelerates at a certain direction, it becomes subject to a force equal to:            F=ma
in accordance with Newton's Second Law. In this formula, m is the mass, a is the acceleration. Therefore, accelerometers are built on the principle of measuring the force exerted on a test body of a known mass along a given axis.
Gyro sensors- The gyroscope sensor measures rotational velocity along the Roll, Pitch and Yaw axes. It depends on the property of rotating mass as illustrated in the following schematic drawing of the classical mechanical gyroscope.Gyroscope is second most popular sensor in today's smartphone, after the accelerometer sensor. Angular velocity is generally expressed in deg/s (degrees per second).
The magnetometer sensor- magnetometer sensor in your smartphone also utilizes the modern solid state technology to create a miniature Hall-effect sensor that detects the Earth's magnetic field along three perpendicular axes X, Y and Z. The Hall-effect sensor produces voltage which is proportional to the strength and polarity of the magnetic field along the axis each sensor is directed. The sensed voltage is converted to digital signal representing the magnetic field intensity.  Other technologies used for magnetometer may include magneto resistive devices which change the measured resistance based on changes in the magnetic field.
proximity sensor- A proximity sensor is a sensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. A proximity sensor often emits an electromagnetic field or a beam of electromagnetic radiation (infrared, for instance), and looks for changes in the field or return signal.

Barometer Sensor- a barometer as “a scientific instrument used in meteorology to measure atmospheric pressure.” It measures the pressure exerted by the atmosphere above it. This measurement of pressure can be used to forecast short term changes in the weather and can be used to estimate altitude.
